CORPSE ROADS: COFFIN PATHS: PATHWAYS TRAVELED BY SPIRITS

 Take Your Dead to These Old Corpse Roads

The dead “were carried along strictly defined corpse roads for the belief that coffins sterilized the                  land because the dead were forced to walk that way until their souls were purged, ~                                                      New Scientist Magazine 1977                                                                      

Recently, I did a paranormal investigation at Pacifica California's Historical Sam Mazza Castle;                 a beautiful place filled with antiques and hosts music salons, and also a highly active paranormal                      space.

In one room I came across a "pathway" like the older pathways known as Corpse Road or                              Coffin Path or Road and also other terms depending on the country term.

In Britain can be known as a bier road, burial road, coffin line, coffin road, corpse way, funeral                             road,  lycnh way or proceeon way.  

Such "church-ways" have developed a great deal of associated folklore regarding ghosts, spirits,                wraiths    (a ghost or ghostlike image of someone, especially one seen shortly before or after their death.) 

As scary or strange that might sound in this day in age, it was considered a practical means                                for transporting corpses, often from remote communities to cemeteries to the parish churches                           in coffins or for those unable to afford a that, wrapped in a sheet, to their final place of internment.

Of course folklore and mythology became part of this tradition with belief it's  a very active                      paranormal space where spirits and ghosts of all kinds can be seen moving in the same direction. 

You can image how eerie ghosts stories and sightings of phantom lights in the dark traveling on                       these corpse roads were shared around fireplaces.

To this day in England and although rare, if you walk the roads you might come upon coffin stones,      some with crosses carved in the stones where coffins or at times only the sheet-wrapped corpses                           were placed when their carriers needed a rest. 

The pathways I've encountered are quite busy, full of activity with many spirit images and travelers                      human and animal ghosts. I can also see the terrain before buildings cut the pathway off and hasn't                   seem to stop the flow to a person, like myself who sees beyond the physical boundaries.

TRAVELING WITH GHOSTS

                     Traveling with Ghosts

Is it possible for a ghost, poltergeist or entity to travel with you rather than be contained to one location?

Yes. 

Although not often will an entity (ghost, poltergeist) attach itself to you or an object to travel with you to another location.

A few years ago I was invited to talk about my book, "How to Talk With Spirits: Seances, Mediums, Ghost Hunts" at an antique store located in a Northern California town founded in 1850s.

After my talk the audience joined me for a walk about of the store where I'd stop when feeling a psychic pull to a piece of furniture, clothing or jewelry, or a photo and quite often a toy. Then I'd "read" who, what, and where was attached to it. In other words, giving a history psychic reading like I do on my paranormal investigation (on Amazon Prime and YouTube, The Haunted Bay).

Sellers were able to confirm how accurate the information was (I did really well) but unfortunately some of the history wasn't known to the antique dealer. 

Does this mean the spirit/ghost/entity is still attached? 

Not necessary. My psychic abilities include precognition - knowing the past. When I do psychically feel or know that an entity is attached, right away I distance myself to observe what or who it is. 

This observation is a way of not inviting or allowing that entity or ghost to enter into my physical space and/or body.

Why and how do attachment happen?

If it's through an object it is because there's an intense identification from spirit to it and even death will not separate that feeling. If it's an entity something with that object happened that was not pleasant  - good - and has attracted negativity.

Majority of spirits do not want to attache themselves to life - people or objects - when they pull away from the physical body and world, but those who do follow objects and then, follow certain people away from the location are usually not pleasant ones to deal with.

The worst attachments will even want to harbor within the new location and even a person's body and that is not good at all. But, it happens.

What to do?  You can cleanse your area and body by doing such things as smudging, Feng Shui and if need be, call in a medium educated and experienced to work with that kind of haunting.

 In addition to what I write in my book, How To Talk With Spirits: Seances •Mediums               •Ghost Hunts, on healing relationships after the death of a loved one or anyone you had a disturbing relationship with in life, this presentation included guided meditations and hands on applications like automatic writing and focusing on a photo (pets included.)

I never know how my information will be, or not be, helpful and was happy when many attendees sent feedback within days of it. 

Below are a few various responses of how healing is in process between the living and the dead and/or how people found the information.

About why I encourage you to heal with spirits before you meet them on the "others side": Besides living a more joyful, peaceful life and not walking around with a pained heart and guilty mind of I should've ...  as you heal, the spirit’s soul also heals thus new karma is created between you and with those in the physical world also.

 

Surprises happen during spirit communication. Just because you call on a spirit doesn’t mean that spirit will respond:

 

“So appreciated, June. I wanted to tell you that the focus picture I had for the writing was not the person that came through the pen!! (It was the other picture, though!!) Isn't that something?!!”

We can seek assistance. Spirits can help us with present day projects. This person is an author and is presently writing another. You'll learn automatic writing includes drawing pictures and/or symbols. 

"I was communicating with my grandparents who I've never met asking them for info for my book I'm writing about their lives. I drew them during the automatic wring session.(the drawings were sent to me.)" - Suzette Martinez Standring, Author. 

 

Staying open to receiving messages from spirits is also a good way to approach communication: 

 

“I wasn't sure who would come through the strongest; once you led us through the automatic writing, it was my dad, crystal clear. Our visit was happy; no sorrow or sadness. I saw and felt him sitting across from me and the writing brought through his New York City street slang - his healthy, happy self. He asked me to go to Ireland for him, and right after he said that, you shared on Zoom a spirit from Ireland was coming through. How cool! I was led into deep reflection, compassion, and forgiveness - death has affected much of my life, and it's taken time to heal from the losses. Your book brought up similar reflections of finding peace through pain. Thank you.”

 

Lock away pain and grief often comes as a surprise. Once brought forth a true healing can happen:

 

“I reached out to my sister's son who died three years ago at the age of 45 and discovered untapped grief that was on a deep level. It surprised me. I had felt ashamed or guilt because it seemed as if I felt so little about his death, but I had not taken or been given the space to experience my loss of him, and Thursday, I did. Thank you for the exercises and the information.” 

 

Participants were asked to bring a photo of one or two spirits they wished to contact and were surprised by the response. 

 

And those who just enjoy learning with an open mind:

 

“This session was incredible! I really feel that I got a lot of important information from you and my loved ones. I so appreciate your work and sharing your wisdom. It is such a wonderful gift! thank you.”

 

“Very much appreciated. Although I did not need healing for the two people I chose last night, your talk was very informative and I will try the exercises you showed us. Thanks again. Peace and love.”

GRIEF DISTURBS THE DEAD

 

What it is you say to a loved one on the "other side"?

Is it lovingly supportive of their new journey in another place and space?

It is jolly with laughter of your times together on Earth?

Do you wish them peace from your heart? 

As a medium - meditator between the living and the dead for many years, I've learned how people communicate to their dead loved ones.

Most think and often speak aloud words of sorrow, often calling the dead back to help with this or that; they cry with guilt over what they should or could have done; what they did they think was wrong or harsh, or not enough. 

I've done it myself. 

Then I learned (from the dead) how our grief disturbs them.

Just as they're settling into peace and healing along comes a living person calling their name, crying for help, begging for comfort and how can one rest with all that going on?

Is that helpful to the spirit?

Well, put it this way - someone you care for, someone important to you in life is leaving for a long journey with a one-way ticket - what do you say?

 "I wish you well" -  "I wish you happiness" -  "I hope you find what you seek"

Or,

"How could you leave me?"  - "What did I do wrong?" - "Did I let you down?" Etc.

lessen the pain of guilt, yearning, anger, abandonment fear and all what we feel when in grief. 

There is a proper way to speak to the dead.

Do you believe in ghosts? was a question posed to The Haunted Bay's producer Ying Liu by filmmaker and producer, Quentin Lee in a candid interview about Ying's belief or not in the supernatural.

She started out saying, yes, but...So what changed her mind?

At one point she was on the opposite side of the camera with her crew - all but one were sitting on the fence about the whole thing.

When I'd say, oh! did you see that bloody mess of a body there? They'd shrug with no comment.

We investigated some great spooky places that were reported to be haunted and I confirmed that pause found much more activity.

Those who've read previous blogs know I'm one of the (main) mediums with the historical series The Haunted Bay Paranormal Investigations with June Ahern as seen on YouTube.

How did Ying get so involved with this that it has reached thousands?

A series with me will now be seen on Amazon's Prime Time starting Monday, May 11th, 2020. The time hasn't been sent to me yet. I'll let you know if you don't find it this upcoming Monday.

Ying brought me into her project with my first ghost encounters at the infamous Condor Club where Carol Doda revealed it all - a first in USA's history. Her enhanced breast was a hit with guests of the club. Like yeah.

A bizarre death took place there too. That investigation led to many more.

Seeing and hearing what I did, I think you'll believe in ghosts.

A PSYCHIC KID: CHALLENGES & HOW TO SUPPORT

The Child With Clear Psychic Abilities

Do you have a psychic child? 

With my psychic abilities, I recognized my son's psychic impressions and experiences he began to have while a toddler. I listened without judgment, while educating him to use his abilities healthily for himself and others.

 Now, as a parent of three children, he supports them to feel comfortable with their psychic abilities.

My son was also a highly developed psychic child who actually received pertinent information about a murder case I was working with law enforcement on in the early 1980s. He was only 3 1/2 years old when he first received visions about this case, and it went on until he was about 5 years of age.  

He was willing to talk about what happened to the woman murdered. I did not feed him any information or encourage him to talk about it. I listened.

I offered the information to the police, but protected my son by saying it was my information, although I did record my son giving his impressions. Working with the police can be quite jarring for a psychic as they want "just the facts, ma'am," and often psychics take time developing the "facts".

What he received helped officers find an elderly witness whose testimony was videoed because of his age and illness, and later presented in court.

I also gave detailed information known only to the police and continued to work with law enforcement to secure an arrest. The perpetrator is, to date, in prison.

How parents can support their psychic child: Parents might not believe in the paranormal, maybe never having any experiences themselves, but how does a parent handle a child who talks about visions about things that happened before their birth, or that occur at a later date?

Listen, do not say, "Don't talk about that" or "You're only imagining it." Instead, if you know about the history, give credence to the child's visions and talk together about the people, the place, and the time.  If it's the future, say, "We'll see in time, won't we?"

Do not encourage frightening dreams or perhaps an entity your child is fearful of. Rather, give the child comfort and offer to create a safe space by having the child imagine sitting in a white bubble, safe from all that can harm her/him.

One time, a very nasty entity came to my house, and I dispelled it, only it went into my young son's room and caused havoc. What I did at 2 A.M. is "cleared the house" with special incense and demanded verbally, OUT! to the bothersome entities. 

The child that communicate with spirits.

An example was a grandson (not by blood, came through a marriage),  at four, who saw my sister in spirit. Her death wasn't discussed in front of him, so when he "saw" her in his psychic eye and then related a message, we were surprised.

One night, my son, his wife, and my bonus grandson were bidding each other goodnight when he appeared to be falling asleep while standing; his eyes fluttered, and his head fell forward. He then raised his head and said clearly, "Your sister is standing next to you. She's smiling and said not to cry for her."

I was grieving heavily, with most days spent in tears. I quietly thanked him for sharing the information. In that way, I validated his connection to my deceased sister while accepting her message.

His mother had no idea he was a psychic kid. Maybe because he was with me, someone who would understand, his ability was revealed. Since then, we've shared many a psychic experience, and I support his ability through teaching him how to contain, understand, and call upon it.

Gary was an easy to talk with host and told a couple of his own stories; he worked at a very haunted building confirmed by many other employees and he also told of his most touching, unusual story of his father's passing.

I shared my first paranormal investigation in San Francisco's strip club where a bizarre death took place and the creepy meeting of low grade entities in a SF site where the most deaths from the 1906 earthquake in the city happened. When I was young I didn’t like my name. The little ditties and jokes: like June is  bursting out all over.

My mother suggested I change it.

Tried Jackie (Jackie Kennedy was First Lady and I, a big fan of her).
Eventually, ended up keeping my own.

There was a big hoopla naming me June. My mother looked outside at a sunny June day (when I was born) and decided to name me June.

My father didn’t like it either saying it was a pagan, heathen name and not a saint’s as was the tradition in a Catholic family to name a child after a saint.

This contention between my parents over my name led to my first novel, The Skye in June.

Later, I told him I’d be the first Saint June. Of course I didn’t say e a Catholic one, but a Wiccan/pagan saint. I’m working on it being saintly - but....

June is derived from the Roman goddess Juno, the goddess of marriage – the Great Juno Moneta guarded over the finances of the empire and had a temple on the Arx, which was the mint. I’d like to be Mama Bank.

June also means youth - forever young. Oh yeah, that'd be me. LOL
