When people learn that I'm a witch they ask curiously, and at times humorously, if I cast spells and then always add - bad spells?

Although it's rare I cast a spell anymore, I have created my success from lovely, non-harming spells.

Never a bad spell - although at times I've had to cast a turn around, banishing, or binding spell. Seldom do I do those because I believe they can have a negative backlash. When casting a spell one understands the three-fold law of karma. The 'what goes around, comes around' way of living.

Once in anger, I did invoke a banishing spell against an adversary. Ouch. Backlash.  Once burned....I was warned not to do it! All in all, and in time, the spell cooled out and the ending was a good choice for both of us.

A spell is like a recipe - a little of this, a dash of that, a pinch and sprinkle. Most of all a spell is like a chant, affirmation, a prayer of sorts, more than a wish, because you are direct with belief in your ability to create.

One of my all time favorite spell books is 'Simple Spells for Success' by Barrie Dolnick and Zsuzsanna E. Budapes' 'The Grandmother of Time' spells.

I simply love the glamor spell when I'm ready to attract positive attention to my personal and professional growth. Once you experiment with it, you don't have to do it much at all. The glow of your aura energy extends out and attracts the right energy (people, events, opportunities) to you. It's quite easy. Sit in front of a mirror in a darkened room with a white candle. Close your eyes and go through the many colors of the rainbow and your favorites. Let them swirl around you, select one, see it around and feel it in your body, beautiful, radiant, shinning through, you glow, you shine. Open your eyes, look in the mirror and see the aura of your color all around and within you. Go into your day. Let me know how your day(s) are after the spell.

The success of a spell is only as good as your ability to mental be clear with what you want, how focused you are, and patient too - have a willingness to wait. Sometimes you might do a spell and think it's not working because it doesn't happen right away or the way you wanted it. Not true. Often other experiences must occur in order you move closer to the magic of the spell.

Periodically I do cast spells to advance projects (goals) to grow abundance. The Timeless Counselor recently received a new cover, became an ebook and is receiving five star reviews. Wow! 24 years later it still is of interest.

Just before my 1990 release day a tarot reading revealed that The Timeless Counselor would lead to more writing success.

Tonight I will sit at my altar and give my thanks to the Moneta the goddess for my good fortune and cast a spell to continue to attract book lovers to my book. Blessed be.

AURA READING: can be very insightful. The aura is an energy field that surrounds all living organisms. It is seen with the "mind's eye" and not the physical eye. Aura energy is seen in vibrating colors; red, orange, yellow, lighter blue, green, indigo blue and purple with variation mixing and blending, dark and light. It surrounds people, all creatures, plant kingdoms and all of nature.

The aura holds information about the spiritual, emotional, mental and physical condition of a person. Each color is relative to specific information. Above left I'm surrounded by red and white - red on one side of my head - a lot of mental activity, new active ideas and on the other side white that looks like twin energy. My guides? My spiritual self outside my physical self. I would say both.

My image on the right side taken in another year shows yellow cascading on either side of my head and very close to it looks like hair, doesn't it? A golden yellow sometimes as seen in the third charka, ego - self power center. I am at a time of feeling confident in my spiritual and physical, emotional world. The bridge between the yellow and on the outer side is a light green (mixed with some white), peaceful, and healing of my ego in a way I understood my life karmic path more so than in previous years.

The color(s) of the aura can change as it is affected by the mood and energy of a person. The color(s) may appear intense or dull, mobile or stationary.

Nowadays, auras can be photographed by using specially designed light sensitive cameras. This process known as Kirlian photography is named after Semyon Kirlian, a Russian scientist who developed it. The technique is a collection of photographic techniques used to capture the phenomenon of electrical corona discharge (an electrical discharge brought on by the ionization of a fluid surrounding a conductor that is electrically energized.)
In this photo I am surrounded by blue and white, with some green in the center where my heart is. My aura conveys my distancing myself with the protection of my spiritual guides.

I do not have a Kirlian camera, rather see with my psychic eye (not a physical eye) to see auras emanate from clients as I begin my readings. This information is useful in helping me to understand my client’s energy­­––physical, emotional, mental, and spiritual image. If you choose to have an aura reading be sure to ask the reader to translate any information given about the “colors” she sees and how it applies to your situation.

 Red energy: activity. In my head area (7th chakra) pertains to my spiritual awakening in action and the whitish energy above, visions. My visions and night dreams are very active as I'm guided to my path as a psychic/medium - beyond what I thought of myself, my life or my professional path. The intensity of moving forward was great during this time. Teaching, lecturing, meeting, often my change, people from great distances.

GLASGOW, SCOTLAND TO SAN FRANCISCO

Those who followed my writings know my novels settings are in two places, Glasgow, Scotland and San Francisco, California, U.S.A. Both places are close to my heart and life experiences: I was born in Glasgow emigrated in mid-fifties to San Francisco's neighborhood called Eureka Valley, now known to many as the Castro.

Although I became an American citizen in 1962, I grew up in a very traditional Scottish household. Thus I am of both nations. Many stories I heard about "back home" and songs learned, like "Murder, Murder Polis", came past down from parents and our Scottish friends. They were about growing up in Glasgow such as the difficulties Catholics had in the job market, and about my faither's (father) work at the shipyards on the River Clyde, WWII - running at night with an infant and toddler to a bomb shelter, and the happier times of holidays at Ayr with a graveyard as the backyard of the place we stayed. I remember jumping from gravestone to gravestone that laid long on the ground. We spoke differently with words like pokeyhat (ice cream cone) and wee backle  (a small disheveled person) were spoken. To this day I am more comfortable with some pronunciations of words than in the West Coast U.S. way of speaking.

I learned that the English were sassenachs and not well liked in Scotland by many. After all, when taking over the highlands of Scotland they had turned out women and children in the dead of winter to starve and freeze to death  That time was called, The Highland Clearance.



The English wanted the land for sheep grazing, not for inhabitants who had lived there for hundreds of years. Further more they took the traditions and honor of the inhabitants by banning the wearing of the kilt (the highlanders colors), forbidding the bagpipes and Gaelic. 

So much trite in such a small country and so much of the discord supported by the conquers through religious division as read in my novel, "The Skye in June".

Is it time for the Scots to have their country back as the Irish have done in the south of of that country?


Tomorrow 9/19/14 we'll learn if Scotland will separated from England. A country that opposed and repressed Scottish people for hundreds of years.

PSCHIC READING: ASK QUESTIONS

 

Going to a psychic reading unprepared is like going on a road trip with no thought of where you're going or why. 

 

Hop in the car just drive where? North? South? East? West? 

 

And then stop to ask for directions. When asked, "Where are you going?" you reply, "Don't know. You tell me."

 

You keep control of where you are going, what you want from a psychic reading. 

BE PREPARED BEFORE you go to your reading for the best results. 

 

PREP WORK #1

 

Even before you chose a reader (book will explain why), write down questions to ask the reader by first asking yourself, why do you want a reading? Is it clarity about a relationship? Future visions from her or him about a job? Health, do you want a reader to look at your aura and see if there is a health issue?

 

What kind of information will be most helpful to you? 

 

Once you have your questions written down, look them over to prioritize (no doubt you will have a set time for the reading.)

 

What are your top three questions at the present time? 

 

The day of the reading, are they still the top 3?

ACT OUT FOR FUN TABLE TOP READING CITY OF REDEMPTION

Called family, friends, and neighbors to do a reading of my screenplay, City of Redemption by June Ahern from the novel of same title.

Lots of fun with a jerky start, totally amateurs at play - except for our star reader, Shannon Briesach, the only real actor who suffered and laughed along with us.

In this Youtube video of Liz MacKay meets her new family or as she calls it her "Odd Family" - the commune she is now in.

With a table top read screenplays come to life and what isn't working is heard and seen, what is working drives the ambition on to see the story on screen. This screenplay was also read by "real" actors in Hollywood around the same time. Their videos didn't work out. But they LOVED the characters and storyline.

City of Redemption takes place in two locations, Glasgow, Scotland and San Francisco, California 1967 - Summer of Love. The screenplay is focused on San Francisco. It is about a lonely young woman seeking an opportunity for a new life after her young son is kidnapped and murdered and she had a role in that. Cat plunked down on a chair and picked up the plastic bag of grass. She opened the bag and stuffed some marijuana into a matchbox. “A little dab will do ya. Use more only if you dare,” she sang along with the Brylcreem jingle.
 

“What’s with the wee matchboxes?” asked Liz.
 

“I sell them at the high schools. You know the kids don’t got much money so Ricky makes it easy for them.”
